Tonight: Justin Townes Earle
Despite the snow freakout, Justin Townes Earle and Dawn Landes will be playing The Grey Eagle tonight. Put on some long underwear and strap on your snow shoes. I think it’ll be an awesome intimate night of music.

Coming Soon: Drive-By Truckers
Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers are coming back to The Orange Peel for two nights in April, specifically Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th. They sold out two nights in January 2009 and I’m betting it’ll happen again. Tonight: Abigail Washburn at Laurey's

Bowerbirds are back tonight at The Grey Eagle. Since they were last in town, they came out with an amazing album, Upper Air. The new songs seem fuller and more intimate, but lack some of the rawness I liked about Hymns For A Dark Horse. Jagjaguwar artist Julie Doiron will open the show. My Top 10 Albums of 2009
Metric - Fantasies This album just fit my life this year. Questions of art, money, and happiness are all there. Check out this beautifully shot interview with singer Emily Haines if you haven’t already. She talks about moving to Buenos Aires to escape the pressure of making music in North America. I got to see a special acoustic duo version of Metric this summer in Boston, but missed...
