Break out your boombox tonight for this year’s rendition of Unsilent Night. The outdoor “sound sculpture” was conceived in 1992 by Bang on a Can All-Star Phil Kline and has become an annual Christmas tradition for cities across the world.
Locally, it’s being organized by Jim Julien and Jim would like you show up tonight (Friday, December 19) at Pack Square’s Vance Monument at 7pm with your boombox or other electronic music devices with speakers. They’ll have CDs and cassettes.
The processional will walk down to Lexington, up Hiawassee to Flint, to Haywood, around Pritchard Park and back up Patton to Pack Square.
Afterwards, don’t let the music end, head to Harvest Records to see Jack Rose and Body Of John The Baptist.
