Dane Smith from the Mountain Xpress found the local 20-year-old who recently got Best New Track from Pitchfork.
Dex Romweber may not be the prettiest rocker out there, but who needs a pretty face when you can play like the devil. The Dex Romweber Duo (Dex and his sister Sara) have blown me away the last couple times I’ve seen them rocking the pants off bigger, younger, more hyped bands. They are the real deal. Need proof, check out Alli Marshall’s interview with Dex over at Mountain Xpress. And to sweeten the pot, the infamous Mad Tea will open. This Friday, Dec 28, at Grey Eagle. 10 bucks in advance. Bring your dancing shoes.
As long as you are going out Friday night, you might as well continue to rock out on Saturday with Albert Adams, Decent Lovers, Taylor Rogers, and Total War at LAB. 5 bucks.

Pro tip: Go see Floating Action whenever possible. I finally got around to processing the photos from their show at Emerald Lounge in November and it reminded me how awesome they are live (and on record).
Your next opportunity to see them is on New Year’s Eve at Jack of the Wood! I hear tickets are going fast so you might want to get on that.
You’ve probably seen their new video for Matador, but it can’t hurt to watch it again…
My ears are still ringing from Japandroids, who Harvest Records were kind enough to bring to town this past Sunday. While I enjoy most of the shows at Grey Eagle, it really feels like an acoustic listening room most of the time. This night felt like a basement show on steroids. Bands, please bring more lights! It makes everything awesomer.
Japandroids were my #1 show that I hadn’t seen live yet and while there was some fierce competition, the new number one position goes to Action Bronson.

I enjoyed the show much more than he did.
