Tonight: Lost in the Trees

Lost in the Trees, a folk orchestra from Chapel Hill, is playing the Rocket Club tonight. From a quick listen they remind me of a film score to an quirky indie drama directed by Tim Burton that doesn’t actually exist. This promises to be an interesting show to say the least.

While the Rocket Club predictably has little information about the show, the dude on the phone said the show would start around 10pm and cost about $8.

Twee folk group Midtown Dickens from Durham will open.

Liars are coming back to town on Saturday, May 10 at The Rocket Club courtesy of the fine folks over at Harvest Records. Other upcoming shows that are their fault: Destroyer on April 26, Earth on May 2 (if Josh Ritter isn’t your cup of tea), and Stars of the Lid on May 5.

Drive-By Truckers are playing tonight, but the show is sold out. You could stand outside The Orange Peel looking sketchy or roll the dice with Craigslist.

Or you could come to The Rocket Club and rock out with us to The Whiskey Daredevils. I’ve never seen them, but I’m already digging their style. Their new album features covers of Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Circle Jerks, Minor Threat, Fear, The Ramones, The Misfits, and Sex Pistols.
